Chania - Crete Jewish Walking Tour

The community was completely distroyed during the WW2, when the Nazis gathered the Jews of the island (Chania, Rethymno and Iraklion), put them on "Tanais", a ship to Piraeus for deportation. The ship never got to Piraeus, it was sunk. Only 77 people survived from the once florishing Jewish comunities of Crete.

The Jewish Walking Tour of Chania, offers a detailed view of the Jewish and non Jewish parts of the charming old city of Chania and an extensive historic background, so our guests can picture the everyday life of the Jewish community in the city.
